Do You Trust Me

Why do words prohibit my existence.
I can't even speak within my own head.
It shuts me down and up.
Breathing is a curse and I refuse to work any harder
Depression is my backpack and I walk through the night.
Sleep is my enemy as though the dark is my friend.
I've learned to hide and conceal the best parts of me.
Someone, some people, everyone.
They thought.
They say.
They said.
They do.
Guess what?
And it goes all to my head.
I blocked myself from the world because they robbed me of my innocence.
They took me out of my body and placed it back with fear.
I run in the wild
I hide from those beasts.
I scream at the desire of their own hidden kind.
They lurk and look.
Seeing the parts I don't want.
I shrug the backpack off.
Because I've learned to look around.
I found a tree I can climb.
I can't bring my backpack so I'm leaving it behind.
At the top I see the sun and realize I could've been up here all along.
