Do you want an orange?


“Do you want an orange?”

yes.

 

two not-peeled

we peeled them

I with a knife

you without.

much restraint

before I knew

you had taken

two not-for-you

(they were for your mother)

yes, you held my hand

for too long

and you felt it.

and said some things

I think you hadn’t planned

two-of-us together

not like the

two (thousand) flowers

more like the

two seconds too-long

you held my hand

and the

two opened oranges.
