Doctor

I got a call at 7am.

I knew something was wrong; it was a Sunday and most people were at church.

Not me.

I knew that something was wrong. The person on the other end of the phone

sounded sad and told me to come to the Hospital.

I rushed to my car, to the freeway, to the Hospital, preparing for the worst but hoping for the best.

Parking quickly, I ran into the building. the large, white building with red crosses scattered about.

Walked through the hallway, saw the paintings of blurry flowers attempting to cheer me up....

impossible

"This way, sir" the kind nurse said and led me into a room.

"What is this?" I proclaimed. Confused, many people in the room and I recognized all of them.

Co-Workers. "SUPRISE" they shouted!

I understood at last what was wrong.

I am a doctor, and it is my birthday.
