Doesn't Sound too Bad
"School is hard
to that, many would agree
perhaps leaving school behind
is the way for me.
Doesn't sound too bad,
wouldn't you agree?
My options are limited
to the work of low class
but fifty thousand a year,
enough to live off of,
isn't all that bad.
I have a family now,
a wife and a son,
yet my livelyhood has left me
like a setting sun
but unlike the sun
it will never rise again
as those who stayed in school
snatched it
from the palms of my hands.
Twenty eight thousand, a measly sum
barely enough to make some ends meet,
half had to be cut off out of lesser need
half the time I feel like I'm on the run."
Your plight is great, I can attest to that.
You wished me no harm, yet harm was bestowed.
You talk as if all is now lost.
Yet there is still hope.
I will take the path you did not;
relish in hardship once escaped
for the betterment of our estate.
It is not a matter of trying;
This endeavor will return results.
I will take a few lines out of your book
and modify them accordingly.
Doesn't sound too bad, wouldn't you agree?
