A Dog Barks

A Dog Barks

by t.a.mayes

Predawn air chilly and inviting

Dark sky canvas stretched tight

Large illuminated stars

Distant orbs day dimly twinkle

Rushing creek water, a dog barks

Pin-light orbits, humans looking down

A jet roars its voice, engines glowing red

Silhouettes of trees reach up to heaven

Nature's arms extended in prayer

And then all sounds cease to be

The eyes see the universe

The mind sees much more

Thoughts cease in the vacuum of silence

Tingling sensations in every vein

God speaks, the voice within

"I am you, you are me. Love as I do"

Earthly senses returns

A dog barks
