Dog Days (Are Over)

In my boat, there I lie thinking of you

Waves toss back and forth like thoughts in my head

Anticipating how to pursue

Haunted by all the words you’ve never said

I am lost in the sea of nights and days

Venturing on a journey for your love.

And I have done it all to attain your praise

Taking and taking, what are you made of?

Nothing had to be said, just you and me

But now we are furthest from complete

How much I mean to you, now I can see

I’ve lost admiration, let’s never speak

Four little legs could never take you far

Although a dog, you still remain my star
