A Dog Named Snout

My dog died

in my arms.

We were watching

reruns of the Lone Ranger

and having a great time.

I was eating popcorn

and he was eating

Blue Buffalo freeze-dried treats.

He was partial to Tonto.

I liked Silver.

Snout was very old;

he remembered the original

Andy Griffith show.

But still to die like that

in the middle of a Hi-yo Silver

And leave me alone hurt.
