Doll

Because you love me

I am constantly hiding in fear

Because you love me

I stand tall only to have you knock me down

Because you love me

You walk everywhere with me

Because you love me

I can’t talk to my friends

Because you love me

I have no life outside of yours

But if you truly loved me

I would glow

If you truly loved me

I would walk with my head high and not low

If you truly loved me

I could walk out of class and not have your shadow

But because you love me

I am not me, I am your doll

Because you love me

I don’t remember how to dress myself

Because you love me

My arms are blue

But I don’t see any of this

Because I love you
