Doll in the Attic

A secret. A beautiful kind of secret.
A sweet heart, sad and lonely.
she breaks the laws, breaks the rules.
She, my friend, lives in the above.

Ever rooted to the window.
Looking out over the land around.
Scared to leave, longing to go.
She stares out though no one sees.

At this little window she waits.
Quiet and sad.
Seeing all.
Saying nothing.

Where she watches and sees.
The outside world -
which has her hidden inside.
Trapped forever in the hole she hides.

The dusty old place she's been condemned to.
Where forgotten discarded toys are.
That is what she has been labeled as.
A discarded toy forever tossed away.
