Dolphin Day

We left at eight-thirty We drove and drove Our final destination was Discovery Cove. We had breakfast, there was much to do The first stop was the aviary where birds landed on you. Red birds, green birds, even blue Those birds wanted to have breakfast too. There were three more exotic animals to meet The turtle, owl and armadillo were neat. Next we took a backstage tour We learned feeding, cleaning, record keeping and more. We changed into wet suits because the water was cold It’s amazing the dolphins do just as they’re told. They did tricks and even gave us a ride We had to hold onto the fin on their side. The lunch we had was quite nutritious Everyone agreed it was very delicious. The birthday cake made a big scene It was really fun turning thirteen. We waded into the stingray pool We fed them shrimp and it felt real cool Like a vacuum sucking food from our hand. The stingray’s body felt like wet sand. The shark habitat was next on the tour We learned that sharks don’t come close to the shore. The excitement was building through our next event Snorkeling at the coral reef is where we went. Next up on trainer for a day Back with the dolphins we got to play They pushed our feet with their noses; we got water in our face My birthday was awesome, this is a wonderful place.
