Don't be fooled
I listen to him talk on and on about his day, but when it's my turn to speak he says he's tired, it's been a long day.
I walk to the bedroom in silence, it's been weeks since he's listened to me.
We get into bed in an awkward silence.
I feel empty inside and tears form in my eyes. He rolls over on his side.
He looks at me and says, "Geez can you turn off the light?"
I'm shocked at his words.
Silly me for expecting a sorry, a hug, or even a goodnight.
It's torture to know he's treated me so poorly, yet here I am by his side.
We're not even married, but we sleep in the same bed.
Have I been too easy?
Does he know I look forward to a wedding date?
My mom's advice comes haunting me tonight.
"This isn't love! Find someone who values and respects you."
Ladies,
If he loves you he'll make it known.
He'll listen to you, care for you, and treat you like his queen.
Don't be fooled by the selfish guys.
