Don't Compare
People always compare love to a flower, but I question why. They say love blooms like a flower and is bright and beautiful, but that only happens in the spring. People tend to forget that flowers are a temporary thing. They bloom for a couple of days, and then fade to grey. In the spring and summer flower bushes are full of color. Come winter and fall, and the flowers are gone. So I question why. Why compare something that we all hold so near and dear to something that won’t even last a full year? We say that love is eternal and last forever, yet compare it to something temporary. Does this mean that this love that we all spend our lives looking for will only last a short time? I mean if they are so similar, does this mean that it won’t last very long? Love is a beautiful thing that we spend our lives looking for, yet what is the point of looking for things that will be gone in the blink of an eye? The roses bloom and are beautiful to see, but when you touch them, the thorns hurt. So when you fall in love, does it also hurt? The comparison seems harmless from afar, but so does a rose. Don’t compare something temporary to something to something eternal, because love is not like a flower.
