Don't Cry
Here I am,
tired yet prepared
for my exam
(dig deep in my heart, and you'll find someone silently saying "I'm scared").
The sleepy, hard crusted eyes
and the head full of lies.
Quickly! - I must go faster!
Hurry on! I must check back for the correct answers!
Let me become a master
and dance like a beautiful dancer
The slowly awakened eyes
and the turning mind of lies.
"You have ten minutes left"-
my heart frozen with fear and panic
and a mutter of curse against the Time Theft.
I bubble more and more in state of manic.
The invisible tears filling up the eyes
and the truths being covered by my lies.
Break occurs
and there I stand amidst the freezing air biting into my skin,
making me want to count the frequency of my heart in hertz.
My head goes into a spin -
half full of ghostly tears falling out of my eyes
and the other half convincing myself that the truth is a lie.
We head back,
we continue on,
but there are vicious, nasty, thoughts attacking me through packs,
telling me, "You wish you were gone".
I drown in the nonexistant sea that originated in my eyes
and my weakened iron wall of lies.
"You'll disappoint everyone, you'll bring their hopes down."
Nonsense, I still have time to be a grown up.
"With the ending of you acting the clown."
Shut up, shut up, shut up!
The conflicted and focused eyes
and the white lies.
The timer goes off.
Everyone sighed in sync.
We all leave hearing a single cough coming among us.
I now stand underneath a tree, hearing the crunching of leaves, with my lips on a drink.
The clear and awakened eyes
and the head rid of lies.
All I could think as to why
half way through I showed a very confident eye
Was the scared heart comforting me saying "Don't cry".
