Don't Fall Astray

Location

JC: When darkness seems to take you on, and waters rush, and the storms brew strong:

The world is supposed to be this way.

Don’t be discouraged.

Don’t fall astray.

AL: But people are surprised when I say I constantly hear shrieking.

Fear is no more for their screams seem like others are weeping.

The wonder of pain is no more the same.

Questions of old are no longer so bold.

But my heart is always going to be

            Praying:

Praying to the depths, because it knows of not sustaining.

JC: The Lord will hear you in your plea, when you cry, “COME RESCUE ME!”

For life is supposed to be this way.

Don’t be discouraged.

Don’t fall astray.

AL: But I hate that feeling that erupts when I grasp tightly but lose it all anyway,

Makes me feel like the dark of the night is calling my soul away as it may.

“Understand you are young,” say mom.

“Keep holding on,” dad says, calm.

But my heart is always going to be

            Praying:

Praying to the depths, because it knows of not sustaining.

JC: Use your pains to learn and grow.

The sorrows will come, and the sorrows will go.

Remember this as you pray:

Don’t be discouraged.

Don’t fall astray.

I love you child.

Do and obey.

Just don’t be left discouraged.

Don’t fall astray.
