Don't Forget Me

Growing up thinking life would be simple Always thinking your parents would protect Then you become a teen Living a life your parents object Parties, boys, friends Who knew this would be the end Met that guy you thought would get you through Fell in love But it was his business Then the impossible happened No one would have guessed Late nights, drugs, sex Money you made becomes untouchab;e For you're just his working mule Man after man Pimp after pimp You felt just short of limp Now addicted to that gack You knew you could never get your life back. Typical story don't you think? But what about the little girl in pink? Just over ten She'd catch the eye of sleazy men Walking home from school one day, In the blink of an eye she kissed her innocence away Now turning twelve She turns tricks better than most. Precious little angel looking like a ghost Knowing no other life she stays for protection Knowing inside that coat, her pimp has a weapon Ads, corners, clubs Screwing not only thugs She can't remember her last loving hig Now she's sixteen The pimp is taking her off the street Currently useless For she is seven months along Raising a child never felt so wrong. Not knowing the father Makes everything harder. Needing to get out for her little girl SHe sneaks away on the job Two days later There the cops found her, grey. Two angels now in heaven When will this horrid war end? Up until now sex slavery was unreal But tell me how do you feel Knowing your own town is number five Every day girls losing their lives. Due to the ignorance of the people Girls arrested and charged for crimes they didn't commit Letting the John free One more girl for him to hit. When victims are now criminals We know people have turned to animals When is it going to be enough? These girls are only so tough Close your eyes and think of a girl you know Now think if she lived this life What would you do? Say she was asking for it, I dare you. Tell me the little girl was asking for it. She never even knew. Victim-blaming can only go so far. And if she's getting into your car I hope you take her to a safe place Otherwise karma will hit you straight in the face. If we work together We could start a revolution Otherwise this will become our evolution.
