Don't Give Up
Seventeen.
Suicidal.
Living his life on the down low
No one has heard of his name outside of his own family
His parents ignore him everyday
He takes prescription drugs to cope with his sadness
He's tried to take his life before
Everyday he deals with the trauma of the past
Bullied for many years
By his friends and even his family
They'd always made fun of his weight
And he'd cry himself to sleep
Everynight he'd wonder why he wasn't good enough
Why even though all he did was care for others
Why they'd treat him so bad
He looked in the mirror
And wanted to change the image
So he went on a food restriction
Eating nothing for many days
Until he went crazy
One day he passed out
And woke up in a hospital
Parents found out about his cuts
Found out about his so called diet
And sent him to a mental institution
There were people supposedly like him
People mentally insane
People that hear voices in their head
People that tried to kill themselves
He knew he didn't belong here
So he tried to hang himself in the middle of the night
But somebody saved him
Not sure who it was but they cut the rope
And down he went hard to the floor
Maybe it was a sign
Maybe it was just a coincidence
But it finally showed him that things can go his way
So from day on he tried
Tried to let go of the past and move on
Tried to be happy even though
So many things were in the way
And that person is he who is writing to you right now
Life is has its ups and down
But don't give up
Someone loves you
Your life is valuable to someone.
