Don't Give Up Now

I’ve seen that hate

Painted on my own face

I’ve watched my life drip away

Drip, dripping down my sink

I know where you are and have been

Feeling numb and alone

Needing just someone to hold.

But take my hand and trust in me

I promise… I’ll pick you up

When that blade is down

On your wrist

So don’t give up now

You’re young and have a life left to live.

At least trust in me

If you don’t have a God

I’m sorry… but I won’t let you jump off that bridge

When they say “Ugly”

You scream “pretty”

Because their standards are irrelevant

When they bring you “pain”

You give out “hope”

Because we know they’re simply incompetent.

So don’t give up now, take my hand and trust in me

I promise… I’ll pick you up

When that blade is down

On your wrist

So don’t give up now

You’re young and have a life left to live

Please don’t give up now

Don’t you want to make yourself proud?

Don’t let it all go now

Please just hold on.

Drowning in your sorrows will get you nothing

Darling yes you are worth something

Your demons are you

And will escape the tortures

So do me a favor and stop!

I promised I would pick you up

When that blade was down

On your wrist

You are young and have a life left to live

You are perfect to me

Why would you give it all up?

You are perfect to me

I don’t want you to give up.

Don’t let it all go now

Please just hold on.
