Don't Go

A single child may thrive

being the only one.

But

in my own opinion

siblings are more rewarding.

We wrestle and fight

become best friends and share secrets.

And to us it’s natural.

Two, Three, Four,

coming into my life and changing every aspect.

Creating something stronger than an any ionic bond

and so difficult to create elsewhere.

I wouldn’t change it for the world.

We may complain about one another

the battle cries to defend our pride.

Choosing sides

grudges held

tattles told

full out war.

Yet

when in ill health

or saddened by the world.

We take care of each other.

All the battles seems to cease

replaced by revenge towards the instigator of pain.

For our world can be so dark

yet so beautiful.

So if I sometimes worry too much

or am the reason for your pain

I’m sorry.

Because even with a bond this strong,

I could still lose you.

And that would end me.

From oldest down to youngest

I care.

And I know you care for me too.

So please

Don't go.
