Don't Jump
When I met her she was quiet and so innocent,
The way she smiled couldn’t not make you smile.
She changed my life.
Suddenly she started to change,
the sparkle in her eyes started to dull.
Her laugh became fake,
and her lips no longer smiled.
Her life was changing.
I finally found out why
She didn’t want to live anymore
but why?
I stayed up thinking,
wondering,
crying.
She had a plan.
To jump,
into the cold Connecticut river.
She had a date
a time
a note
a plan.
I thought I was going to loose my best friend forever
I had to take action.
I told her parents
Me crying with fear of her hating me, her father crying with the fear of not knowing.
We don’t talk much anymore,
she tells me she’s better,
is she lying?
Don’t do it my friend, don’t jump.
