Don't Let Boys Define You
Don’t let boys define you.
Do you miss me?
After all that I did for you
after everything we talked about
How can I mean nothing to you?
I don’t think it’s fair
that after everything I gave you,
after trying so hard,
I’m the one that loses.
If karma existed,
you would be the one
crying on your bedroom floor.
This is your fault.
Don’t let boys define you.
He told me exactly
what I wanted to hear.
But he was also telling
other girls the same.
He convinced me
that his poison was something
that I wanted more of
and more of
and more of.
You’re different.
You’re rad.
I’m proud of you.
I love you.
Do you really?
I let you define me,
and now I’m the one that’s lost.
If we accept the love we think we deserve,
I might as well be dead.
Don’t let boys define you.
Why do I feel like I need one?
I hate sleeping alone.
I wake up early in the morning,
and imagine when you kissed me.
I believed in everything.
And still, no one can ever compare
to the way that you pretended to love me.
If you had felt everything you said,
I would have followed you forever.
It’s not my fault that I can’t move on.
It’s not my fault that I can’t
imagine myself with anyone else.
None of this is my fault.
But it’s my life, and my problem.
Now, do you think of me during the day?
Does it bother you that one of your girls is gone?
Or maybe one girl does not matter
when you have plenty of angels,
all waiting to taste your addicting poison.
I didn’t want it to end like this.
This is your life.
Don’t let boys define you.
