(Don't) Let Me Go
I don’t think you realize
I really don’t mean it
When I push you away what I really want
Is for you to come closer
I want you to hold me and
Tell me that it’s okay
Even if you don’t mean it
A beautiful lie is more appealing than the
Ugly truth
But I’m sure you already know that
So before you tell me I need to stop
Take it in
I’m so close to letting you go because I
Don’t want you to see
I’m getting too attached even though I know that
Despite what we say
You won’t be here forever
I don’t want to, but I don’t know how to stop
I’m terrified of being
Alone
Yet the idea of a relationship
Scares me more because it
Means I might hurt someone I love
So instead of taking that risk I’m
Saying goodbye
Right now, it might seem
Like you’re losing the world but you’ll
Cry only a few times
I’m sure you’ll be over me within a
Week without a problem
Pain isn’t something you should concern
Yourself with
Trust me, I’ll disappear completely I’m
Sure you don’t need me
So before you tighten your grip
Let me go
