A crunchy, vibrant leaf-covered path lies ahead of me as I walk in the park.

My curly brown hair flowing out onto my shoulders, moving with me as I walk.

The beautifully chilling breeze hits my uncovered skin making my hands and face go numb.

Rays of sunlight shine on me through the shedding vibrant trees of Fall as though trying to warm my skin.

I’m softly listening to various movie scores; walking as though it’s the soundtrack of my life.

Completely oblivious to the sounds and people around me, absorbed in my own tranquil thoughts.

I turn the volume full- blast, and my mind starts to envisage. I start to get tunnel vision and the road ahead disappears.

The music fills my ears with wordless, hypnotizing, harmonious melodies that cause me to go into deep thought.

I start to envision about life, about people, and about the world with which I happen to live.

There are villains all around me; slaughtering, stealing, spreading hatred, and laughing at those who are desperately crying out for help.

Politicians rage against each other in a time of war and poverty across the world.

Because of their fight for power and pride, countries and nations are collapsing left and right.

People resent each other whether if it’s differences of religion or where they live.

Fires, hurricanes, earthquakes, lighting, floods, and famine all emerge as well.

I get a chill down my spine at the mere thought of living in such a horrifying place.

However, this is my unfortunate reality; for this is the world I live in, it always has been.

The world where death flourishes and has just hit the big, red Self-Destruct button.

Media ignores the inevitable, and focuses on superficial things and then glamorizes them.

Only acknowledging fake beauty, not the true beauty that lies before them, being destroyed, and gravely wanting to be saved.

The world that is being portrayed on the TV is a false reality and creates false reverie.

People fret over frivolous, unimportant, materialistic things that has been decorated with the help of society.

Causing people to want to spend money to become somebody they are not, and then becoming frauds themselves.

Ignoring the fact that they live in a fabricated, fictitious, malevolent world of deception and gluttony; where the word “fake” should be plastered across the foreheads of those who retain that repulsive quality.

However, some climb outside this foolish box of perjury that they have all crammed themselves into; realizing how ghastly things really are, and how much worse they are becoming.

Some will not accept that we really do live in an abhorrent world, and so decide to scorn truth and believe “it really isn’t happening”.

Thus, they climb back inside the fantasy box that they have created; numbing the pain with self-deception, and holding firmly to a false security.

When doing so just makes them that much more vulnerable to the death threat that will soon face them.

Then, self-pity and fear absorbs their minds; like rancid vinegar being absorbed in a sponge.

Dreams they once had begin to fade, because “work” is now frowned upon in today’s world; not many know what “work” really is.

So, people become lazy, gluttons, drunkards or commit self-harm with drugs or weapons because they feel worthless and hate the life that they have created for themselves; regretting the decisions of their past.

So deep in thought and outraged with acrimony I try to find any shred of hope for the world’s future.

My song changes from something up-tempo and dramatic to calm and peaceful; I begin to relax and clear my head that was flooded with fear and negativity.

The world is filled with evil and destruction, yet it is also filled with hope, and a people who are not absorbed with either self-love or self-hate.

There are those who crave what I crave, and that is for society to be restored; regaining its love, strength and dignity.

That may seem nearly impossible now, but if we do not WORK to make it better, then the world will never come out of the hole that it is in.

I am not saying that all fun is bad, but we cannot be so absorbed with our own pleasures that it distracts us from the suffering in this world.

The world is not at a complete loss yet, but if we do not fight to change ourselves, our mind, body and spirit; then the world will be buried with the dirt of melancholy, animosity, remorse and all those who dwell within it.
