Don't Settle

I am from the union of true love

I am from teachings that descend from above

I did not ask to come here but was chosen

I am a single thread in the fabric God has woven

It’s with Him that I walked through the door

Now I sit in this world to experience what God has in store.

My task is to inform you that you are more than what the mirror reveals

My sisters, you are more than your lips.

Lips that od gave you to speak life into your own atmosphere.

Not death, negativity, and self-doubt.

Use them to tell the generations your story.

You have come a long way from that mistake, that bad choice, those false friends.

You possess more than lips and hips.

You have curves placed so intricately.

Hips that can bear fruit, give birth to our youth.

Do not allow anyone to desecrate your temple.

God will take your flaws and make you anew

In heaven, no one will know that you’ve been through.

God has granted more than hips and lips unto you.

Don’t settle for the man that looks good but does not follow Christ.

Don’t settle for the man that would give you up instantly after your life you have sacrificed.

Don’t settle for locked doors and blocked paths.

Praise God in the hallway and cultivate your craft.

Fellas, don’t feel left out because I am here to lift you up as well.

But first pick up your pants and put away the game controllers and be positive males!

Our children are watching you ever so closely.

Boys and girls mimic you supposedly.

They are reaching for guns and drugs to fix their problems.

But it is you all that must help to solve them.

Don’t be absent or argumentative when present.

Please my brothers and sisters, LISTEN!

I‘ll say this again and again until it seeks in.

I don’t care if I’m repetitive.

I’m ready to sculpt the youth to be competitive.

I wish to ease the pain

And remember the forgotten

I am an angel that has frequently fallen.

God you are the captain of my journey.

You will always follow through.

I won’t have to ever settle, if I always follow you!
