Don't step on my Smile

I smile because I can

not because of you.

I frown because I do

and that's just me.

I write because I love to

and I want to be remembered.

I speak so I can be heard

and not ignored.

Someday, when I am long gone,

these words I write will be heard,

and I will be rembered for frowning because I do

and smiling because I can.
