Don't Think Love Rose

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

But the things you wish for don't always come true.

Roses are life,

The stem is a body,

The roots hold home,

The leaves lift happiness,

The petals pose love,

The thorns tip reality,

And Death will come,

To take it blindly,

Out from under your grasp.

Why? It’s not wise to ask.
