Don't Wake Me Up

I dream a dream

A dream that would seem

To be of you

Where life is swell

No one could tell

The happiness that we make.

It saddens me to say

That you went away

Because I had to wake.

I try to sleep

But here I weep

At not seeing your face again

I try and try

I can not lie

I wish to stay there forever

Because waking up

Faces me with the muck

Of what we call reality.

Where we're not happy all the time

You close the door and I wait in line.

Hoping to be the first to reach you

And open you up to see who I really fell in love with
