The Door to Being Grown-UP

A world of people await out a door

It's a door I have been told that shall leave some sores

If you walk out of it into this world

A whole new fate will be restored

This world will leave scars, aches, and pains

But welcome to the world and try this game

"Try to fit in!" the world may scream

Fitting in just is not my thing

I want to stand out not to fade in

but please forgive me if not fitting in is a sin

I have high hopes for generations to come

Hopes that differs even every persons' thumb

I never want our generation of hope to be swindled

For if it was our hope would surely become dwindled

This door leads to a path

a path once you go down it could have a dreadful wrath

I wish to sit and cry

Cause to choose to stay or leave would make me die

This outside world holds a mystery

One for me that needs a key

I hold the key of my own life

This door, my future could be a strife

I stand in the door frame

The sunlight beams and my heart becomes aflame

This path beyond the door holds a new perspective

I have found in life a new objective

I look at the sun and the sky

And I know it is time to tell my old home good-bye

I take in the last look of home

Then I put one foot out the door and onto this new path that i shall roam
