Double Abuse

I turned on the hot water and stripped out of my clothing.

Comments were replaying in my head.

You’re fat.

You’re ugly.

I stepped in the shower and let the bullets of water attack my backside.

It stung but not as bad as the words.

I could feel my light skin getting more and more red by the drop.

It felt like forever that I stood there, crying, letting the water abuse my back and the words abuse my mind.

I tilted my head back to let the water fall over my hair as I began to wash myself.

Why couldn’t I be like all the other girls?

They knew they were pretty and had confidence.

Guys always went for them.

They had perfect hair and Jordans on their feet.

Why wasn’t someone looking at me telling me that I was perfect?

I stepped out the shower and felt the cold air on my wet skin.

I looked in the mirror and what I saw disgusted me.

All I want is someone to save me...
