The Double Entendre of my Electric Bass

The electric bass is so basic

But it is the basis for each beat

Not only the beats that you hear in music

But the beat that keeps heart moving

The electric not only amplifies the music

But also amplifies my soul

If I were to live without it

It's like removing my life support chord

So how do I keep functioning?

I beg of you not to remove my chord

But to restore by plugging it back into the stereo

It not only revives me,

It also entertains me though,

To be covering for Vampire Weekend

And to play for the next show

The electric bass is so basic

Yet, it keeps me on the go.
