Doubling Up

Some people have a double life,

One that pleases and fills them with joy,

Anouther they long to leav behind.

Sometimes the one they wish farewell,

Must be displayed for the crowd.

If they're lucky, the life they yearn to embrace,

Is the one that's lived the most.

Yet, the one that eats away at their being,

Can grasp onto their heart and soul,

Forcing a drive to desperation.

Sometimes they return anew,

Sometimes it's the last ever seen.

But when they're filled with joy and cheer,

Not even the air can help but feel.

The sun shines brighter,

The sky smiles down,

And none can deny their happily ever after.
