Doubt

Dear Insecurities,

Please exit my life. There is a lot going on right now, and I do not need you to

continue to intrude. I have lost many people throughout my time here in this world,

so I do not need you to enlarge my concerns on my appearance to myself nor others.

Look, I know that you've been here awhile, and this message may be abrupt

and/or rude, but I can't take it anymore! I am so sick of walking into a room full of

people, and feeling my heart drop because everyone looks better than me. I am so sick

of hearing someone laugh, staring at them, and mumbling to myself, "Must be nice.",

because I never know how that feeling feels. I am so sick of only glancing at myself in

the mirror, because the sight saddens me. I am so sick of people saying how beautiful I

am, when all I see is each insecurity scrawled across my face. I am so sick and tired of

you.

I am sorry if this upsets you in any way, but you have hurt me for many years. I

have hid my true feelings for so long, that I almost forgot how it felt to be happy,

how it felt to live.

     But I say no more.

I am highly intelligent, I have friends, I have a family that adores me, and a

beautiful, crooked smile. You will not intimidate me anymore. I am going to live

my life as a teenager should.

                                                                           Sincerely,

The Girl Who Will Take No More
