Down Your Throat Like Quicksilver

We're the only race who has improved at killing our own,

And over the years the animosity has only grown.

Is it possible anymore to reverse time and undo the change,

Or are we forever stuck being people selfish and deranged?

Trying to see through the gray sounds and textures,

Justice is too viscous and peace also is for sure.

Lies are easy to swallow down your throat like quicksilver,

But if the silence is golden what do you need silver for?

We fight for dominance like everyanimal else,

But it's not for our pack; it's for ourself.

And should another tribe die we only say,

"It wasn't us, we are safe, so who cares anyway?"

Trying to gaze through the gray sounds and smells,

The truth is too viscous and the trust is as well.

Lies are easy to swallow down your throat like quicksilver,

But if the silence is golden what do we need silver for?

Brother give me your ears.

Sister can I have your eyes?

Because I don't know if our nations

Hear and say the same lies.

Trying to peer through the gray sounds and hues,

Honesty is too viscous and integrity is too.

Lies are easy to swallow down your throat like quicksilver,

But if the silence is golden what do they need silver for?
