The Downfall of Christianity

The meaning of Christian has radically changed, and because of this new meaning, many people are voluntary slaves to sin, bound in its shackles and bound in its chains. Satan, the deceiver, has deceived us into believing that it’s enough to simply believe in Jesus, when all throughout the Bible God is also calling for our obedience. James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves,” for it’s not God’s will that any of his creatures to be damned to hell. Where Christian once meant, “follower of Christ,” or “Christ’s servant,” it now means, “I’m gonna sin but I’m also gonna carry His name so I can go to heaven.” Praise Jesus! Let me tell you that Christ gets no pleasure, no glory, and no honor from those who attach His name to their identity, and are living sinful, unholy lives simultaneously. To be a Christian you must actually be a disciple, but what kind of disciple would you be if you didn’t even pick up your Bible? You would be the kind of disciple who believes that the Bible is just a metaphor for how people lived before and we don’t have by abide by God’s standards anymore. If we don’t live by the word, what makes us any different than the rest of the world? Yes, being a disciple of Christ is difficult and requires immense amounts of discipline, but if you were really a disciple you would need Christ just like diabetics need insulin. Now I’m not here to convict or to condemn, but it’s my hope that to Him, you surrender your mind, body, and soul. And I can speak firsthand about this because I once considered myself a Christian until Christ showed me a video of my life and to Him I was cast as a lost sheep playing the Christian role. I was like a whitewashed tomb, beautiful and righteous on the outside, but filthy and full of sin on the inside. To Satan I kept flocking and against me he was plotting to have my soul end up rotting in hell in hopes that I would continue allotting my time on Earth to sin. But thankfully Christ stepped in, much to Satan’s chagrin. Sin has become our drug of choice and our lives are laced with all kinds of traces of it, and rehab won’t cease the sins depicted because we cannot be delivered from this affliction until Christ the Healer comes in and heals us of our addiction. Instead of popping the pills of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, we’ve been snorting the rocks of fornication, hatred, adultery, lust, lying, drunkenness, homosexuality, selfishness, and idolatry, and the only way we’ll overcome these addictions is if we first make Christ our diary. See, if we confess our sins to Him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we make Christ our new drug of choice and take a hit of Him, He will take us higher than the highest high of any marijuana high until the point where we’re so high that we’re higher than the highest skies…and are finally in the presence and glory of the Most High. But until then, my friend, friend who calls himself a Christian but is reluctant to give up sin, I must warn you that you’re either hot or cold, for Christ or against Christ. You cannot be lukewarm when it comes to everlasting life. So if you’re not actively serving Christ then you’re actively serving Satan. Allowing as many people as possible into the kingdom of heaven is His ultimate goal, for He wants all people to be able to take a stroll through those streets lined with gold. But, this is tough, since Satan often seems more appealing to us. It’s easier to live sinfully but in the long run it’s infinitely more beneficial to live righteously, seeing as sin will take us down the road of fatality. But we must adorn ourselves with the armor of God since sin will not be conquered until God forces Satan into retirement, and seeing as we’re products of our environment, allow me to be the source of your enlightenment. Just because sin is popular, does not mean it’s good, for I’m sure the multitudes currently being tormented in hell would turn back the hands of time and live for Jesus if they could. To engage in everlasting fellowship with Him was His vision and His mission, and because of Him we are not doomed to damnation because damnation was conquered through His crucifixion. So let's make the most of His crucifixion and give up our addiction. Because of His everlasting love and mercy, the Savior came and saved me from the fate that would eventually be the death of me, and that day I got on my knees, asked the Lord to forgive me, and changed my filthy ways so that I could have life and have life more abundantly. And unfortunately, a lot of "Christians" will respond to this, saying: I'm not gonna die today. I'll serve him when I feel like it or I'll obey when I agree with Him. But let me ask you a question, if Christ were to come back today, or prematurely strip your life from you, would He say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant," or would He say the latter of the two, "I never knew you."

I was so glad to have come across this as I was browsing poems. Sometimes I hear so much spam about "praise Jesus" from people to whom it's only a name, like an Internet buzzword or something. I'm so glad you posted this-- this was something I needed to hear today. As for the work itself, you use some nice similes and metaphors, like the part about where you realize that you were being like a whitewashed tomb. It's long, that's true, but I read through it and it really caught my heart in a funny way. So, thank you for the post! Great work.
