The downside of breathing

Think: what would you do if you could not breathe,

If you were unable to draw in air;

Not able to get the thing that you need,

The life-giving gas that will keep you here?

…Gasping and wheezing, struggling for breath

Coughing and starting to see that white light.

Unfortunately, you will welcome death.

Your vision will blur and become so bright,

And your lungs will be soundlessly screaming,

Burning up as they desperately cry out.

You will pass out and find yourself dreaming,

And soon you will know without any doubt,

That these are your final moments of life

And the lack of oxygen caused this strife.
