#DoYou

Do you trust me

Do you trust me

This question relentlessly mocks me

Reminding me of the times

Where I could fall so

Openendedly

So optomistically

Do you love me

Do you trust me or do you need me

Do you speak so kindly that my mother would be proud

Do you give me a sense of belonging

Do you leave me longing for your presence

But remember to keep your distance just enough

For healthy codependency

Because a generation that is dependent on ecstasy and easy

Is surley the penitence of the romance we once knew somehwere deep down in

Our souls should belong to us too

Do you

Put in the nights of dream making

Do you

Reflect on the painstaking memories of our pasts and recreate it

Or take leaps of faith in hopes of new beckonings

Do you push me past my boundaries

In the name of love

Which only promises to leave me empty

Do you try and bring out the best in me

Break past my tendencies of perfect

And covering what's been left by a mind made uneasy

Do you build bridges and connections, integrate ideals and expectations

Will you provide protection

When the winds break through

And running would put you on top again

Can we have a friendship

Tell me, who am I in this

Do you you mind holding my hand as I sort through it

Because I

know that

I love you.
