in the fourth month i was still wishing it would work

rusty pennies in the hand of a tender heart must be worth more than a cent

maybe worth five months, even?

for now i straddle the line between 4 and 5

and i wonder why "i love you" is shallow

dissonant

it echos uncomfortably, rings through a room like a sound everyone knows but me

shallow, so shallow

why do i stay without more?

why and why

(i do know the answer)

titters begins my back

attention comes from everywhere

and still it's not enough?
