Dream

The cool, crisp breeze

Brushes across my face.

I’m anxious like a

Nascar driver winning a race.

Homecoming Day.

Orange and blue pride washes over

The stands like a tidal wave.

I look up to see a

Million faces starring at me.

Time to begin.

I forgot what to say.

My face turns red as red as

A ripened tomato.

I fly up like a bird

And come right back down,

Only seeing the ground.

Not my fault,

But I can hear verbal assault.

Everyone sounds like a broken record.

Are you okay?

Are you okay?

Yes.

Looks like I’m no Dale Jr.

Better luck next race.
