The Dream

Baseball, the nation's pastime, my pastime

That I have played since I was just five.

The sport, job, or game to some

Was a passion for me and will be for years to come.

But, me, knowing my limits, I will stop playing

This beloved game so I can start paying--my bills.

No, I won't make it to the Majors that way,

I will have to help while I watch them play.

Yes, my dream job is athletic training,

Making sure the athletes are healthy and not fading.

There is no debating, I would love this job

Being able to watch the games and I'd never have to stop.

But first I need to go to college, where it will be hard,

I need some scholarship money or I am going to be scarred.

I know it won't be easy

And I am not trying to be cheesy,

But being an athletic trainer is my dream job, you'll just have to believe me.
