The Dream

He had that sort of pretty innocence The type that made me want to better myself His eyes a sea of green That I could sail in forever A man so perfect, a man so divine I couldn’t help but stare all the time His smile alone could brighten a room, A single glance made my heart go boom I never thought I’d hear him speak Let alone notice me, the chances were bleak But he approached me, giving me hope And I quivered and shook as he spoke A single word had me hooked in tight I found myself at a loss at just the sight His touch so soft, so gentle, so sweet It didn’t take much to sweep me off my feet He took my hand and we started our lives Two ambitious people our careers thrived Houses, children, and even some pets In such a life I had no regrets The remarkable beauty of his personality shone And I hoped I would never have to be alone I thought we’d be happy and make a great team But as I woke up I realized it was all just a dream
