The Dream

March 17, 2016 at 6:40 AM

Last night was the first time

I had seen your smile in months

We danced the night away again

Just like you promised

You even held my hand

As we ate pie

I missed you so much

I hope you will always know

How blessed I am to know you

Everything felt the way

It should be

Everything always felt right with you

I almost forgot the color of your eyes

Until they met mine

When you asked me to dance

I don’t remember the songs we danced to

Because all I could think about

Was you

How I missed you so much

The way you laugh

The crinkles you get at the corner

Of your eyes when you smile

And then it all had to end

Another perfect night

Gone within the blink of an eye

And I really miss you.

my poetry is written mostly at night because that is when the thoughts begin to roam around when I feel myself getting lost in the sea of past memories
