Dream Heart
One foot over the other
I study it
My foot sinks in to the whiteness
And then finally gasp for air as it is lifted up
Only to see a glimmer of hope
Then immediately launched back into emptiness
The story of my life
As I decline from weakness
In the fresh batch of snow
There is a wind that rushes over me
Death behind these eerie forest
Coming silently to greet me
I am conscience
That my last breaths are taking place
There is a whisper of my wishes
That escapes my gray cracked lips
The trees sit-up to listen
And the frigid wind is silenced
Let the bears ingest my flesh
And let birds drink my blood
And lets the wolves possesses my bones
But do not let them take my heart
For my heart lets me love what is not there
In my heart there is love that circles me
Family waiting for me to dry my tears and comb my hair
Little ones that dance to the beat that my heart provides
O, the beauty in the world that I have yet to experience
Is implanted in my heart
And as my breath shortens
I know my visions, goals, aspirations, ideas will live on
Because my Dream Heart will cradle them forever
