The Dream I Once Lost

I was happy with myself, i found out who i was.

After I told them I was a boy, part of me died because

No one sees you as a boy, when you’re so very femme.

I put a new me on myself, all because of them

I love nails, makeup, and hair.

I love beauty, i love myself, and it’s just not fair

I pushed that me deep inside

It became something i had to hide

To avoid their mocking glares.

I’ve found the place I needed to be

So i could bring me back to me.

I’ll hold my breath and take the plunge,

Cosmetology school, here I come!
