Dream Job

Dream and Work

They walk hand in hand

although at times it is more of a frantic grasp

than a leisurely stroll

the journey to the top can be treacherous

but the tolling path is half the excursion

the journey is the work

the dream is the destination

you must first sew the seed

before you can reap the reward

the blood, sweat, and tears provide the fulfillment

it makes the final product oh so sweet

I catch myself dreaming of advocacy

There is a longing within me for a day with no domestic violence

The journey, the path, the seed for me is counseling

I pray to be the healer

The light shed into the darkness

The hope giver

Therapist, Counselor, Doctor

Call it what you will

I perfer for the job to be more a friend with a listening ear

I am not scared of the trials I face in the least

They will be outweighed when my dream is reached

A world where everyone coexists in peace.
