A dream lost

Casted on an island Many miles away Thinking to myself where are the better days I yearn for that happy place And time in my life where I once was How did I, of all people, end up this way? Sitting on the hot, sticky sand Looking as the waves crashed on the banks Heart filled with sadness Slowly going Mad. Day after day Night after night , all I can think about Was how my life was going to waste Living in this unhappy place Not a sound but the waves crashing And my heart chasing. Chasing a thought that stuck with me And in my pocket I reach and in it I pulled Out my accomplishment . My acceptance letter To the college that would fulfill my dreams.... But being on this island, I would never see.
