A Dream or A Nightmare
It’s been a while since I’ve wrote about a dream or a nightmare,
Both of which seem to have blended into one,
To haunt me while asleep.
Showing the distance between who I am, when I am awake and whom I fear when I asleep.
It’s irrelevant to what one would like to see when asleep, but places it’s own events inside,
Like a mammogram of a baby when pregnant, intangible,
But constant and unstoppable.
Reminiscing takes it’s toll when awaken, shaken by the abruption like lighting in the screams,
The thunder of the ever-rapid heartbeat that never ceases to remind you,
That you are still alive.
Pulsating gasps hinder the breathing and control of the awakened till the understanding that a nightmare has occurred and the frightening dream has ended.
Now endowed with mixed emotions the dreamer must decipher between all that does not make since and why the nightmare, so vivid and real is haunting her while asleep.
