Dreamer

I am a dreamer.

A person who spends more hours of daylight thinking

Than doing.

Because within the realm of my mind,

There are no obstacles, no fears, no reality to keep in check.

Because within the realm of my mind,

I can simulate everyday life as my own.

I can build scenarios of becoming the prodigy I wish myself to be.

I can dream of a life I wish I could achieve.

A universe where I am smarter, healthier, and happier without the restraints of reality.

I think of my made up world so much that I feel as if reality is my enemy,

And dreams are my sanction.

And so I close my eyes every night.

For years and years.

And I dream of a better version of myself.

As if I am not already enough in the “real” world.
