A dreamer's recovery from seasonal depression

I rode an emotional rollercoaster

up the coast

Then froze in time

Wrapped in a bitter winter’s breeze

Numbed to the bone

Yet that’s when it all

hurt the most

My soul thaws

Like spring has sprung

My compassion stirs

With a flower’s scent

Carried in a warm breeze

Wet droplets warm the ice

Around my heart

My lungs function again

Gulping breaths of air

Now I’m clinging to life afresh

Strange how my soul

Turns with the seasons

How the sunshine

Brings me healing

I see happiness

Peeking his head

Over the horizon again
