Dreaming

All I see is violence

All I hear are lies

All I want is happinness

All I get is hatred

Untames and Untainted

They hate me

And at times I hate them

All I want is a chance

All I get are deniles

Should I continue being a student

Or should I turn into what they think me to be

What is the point of trying

What is the point of hope

When all they think I do is sell and smoke dope

Can they hear me?

My cries?

My frustrations?

My aspirations?

No, all they care about is being reelected

And all I see is my people neglected

The chance to overcome

The chance to become

The chance to be happy

Because I dream

of being an American
