Dreaming of a Dream

There's a girl swinging in the early moring dew.

The swing is a simple plate of wood with two ropes on each side to pllace her small hands.

She looks up and shesees the tree that is holding her,

the tree is magical its trunk is thick and carved with love notes.

The sun shines on the fresh leaves.

The sun sends her warmth and life.

Her dress moves with the wind and her body.

Her hair, curly and brown.

Her olive skin is gold when the sun touches.

Her cheeks are rosey like a pink sunset.

She toches her warm feet on the dewy, fluffy green grass.

This is her heaven.

Then the sun goes down and its night time.

She looks up and sees the bright shining stars surround her.

She sleeps and is awoken by her alarm clock.

The silence is over.

Dreaming is an incredible thing, it actually feels real.

I am a senior at KIPP University Prep High school. I am a bright and friendly person, who loves to learn and is up for anything. I love to work on my weekends with my wonderful co-workers. I love to listen to music and hang out with friends and family. My all time favorite thing to do is watch movies with my 4 year old sister on my days off. I have always had a passion for poetry, and believe that everyone has a voice, no matter the age or skin color.
