Dreamless Night

     Alone in my own head

as I rest tonight

ins and outs of breathing

calm me while I lose sight

sight of reality, morals, and ethics

family, friends

good and bad

This silent but hectic fading feel

pulls me, I'm losing track of all that is real

and I fall sleep when it's all gone

noise fades away like a closing song

and in the state, I know not what I feel

if that is I feel at all

anticpating my sluggish awake

knowing if I dreamed it's all gone

emptied heads stay empty long.
